What happens to your car if you don't change the water pump?

I just had mine replaced because it was leaking. But I was wondering what would've happened if it just broke while I was driving. Would that have done damage to my engine and be more of an expense, besides having it towed? What happens to your car if you don't change the water pump?In general, water pumps don't break, the seals leak. Without coolant in your engine, it will overheat and seize. This is the end of your engine. What happens to your car if you don't change the water pump?It would have blown the head or destroyed the engine. What happens to your car if you don't change the water pump?there is a possibility your car will smoke all the time or turn offWhat happens to your car if you don't change the water pump?Having it break, or maybe just leak coolant like a civ, could cause overheating. Overheating can cause major engine problems, especially if it is a chronic problem before it is fixed. Experience has taught me to be safe rather than sorry when it comes to your car's cooling system. What happens to your car if you don't change the water pump?would have leaked out all the coolant, overheated the motor, blown the head gaskets and then seized up to a non running conditionWhat happens to your car if you don't change the water pump?your engine would have overheated, most likely destroying the engine. What happens to your car if you don't change the water pump?Depends on how far you would drive it once it failed. Either an inconvenient overheat and tow, or yes you can damage the engine if it overheats badly enough. At any rate you are better doing it when you know there is a problem and you can work it into your schedule, rather than waiting for it to fail on the way to your wedding or for an important job interview (or the cops are chasin' ya!)What happens to your car if you don't change the water pump?depending on how far and how hard you drove it, lotsa nasty

little things could happen -- including total destruction of the

engine
