water pump went bad in my civic, how do i change it out?How do you change the water pump on a 93'Honda Civic EX?They're not that hard. First drain the coolant. Then lift the car, take of the tire that is in front of the motor. Remove the motor mount at the front of the motor. Remove the crankshaft pulley, and continue to remove the timing cover. Spin the motor until the lines match up on both the camshaft pulley and the crankshaft pulley. Then, loosen the tensioner pulley, pull off the belt and then the water pump. Reverse removal process to install.

You'll have to take the timing belt off to get to the water pump out. You'll need specific information to know where the timing marks go. I'd avoid the head ache and take it to a professional.
